Acer has been one of NVIDIA’s closest partner in getting the 3D Vision technology out to consumers and it has now launched the GN245HQ monitor that takes the cooperation to the next level. The monitor not only sports 120 Hz panel but also the IR transmitter that is required to synchronize NVIDIA’s active 3D glasses.
Acer GN245HQ is the first monitor supporting NVIDIA’s 3D technology over both HDMI and DVI-DL. The monitor ships with a pair of active 3D glasses that can be used not only to watch 3D material on your computer but also external units like media player, game consoles, set top boxes or stationary Blu-ray 3D players.
With the included NVIDIA 3D glasses, featuring advanced active shutter 3D technology, combined with the monitor’s built-in IR emitter, you can enjoy your favorite movies or games with your friends, as multiple pair of glasses can be used simultaneously.
Acer builds the new monitor on a 23.6″ LED-backlit LCD panel and the resolution is at 1920×1080 pixels. The contrast ratio is set to 100,000,000:1 and response time to 2ms.
With 3D Vision technology integrated into the monitor and a pair of 3D glasses bundled the price is relatively high, near 600€.
