Albatron has launched two new graphics cards using the PCI interface. That’s right, PCI, not PCI Express or even AGP, but PCI. PCI8600GT-256X sports a GeForce 8600GT GPU, while PCI8500GT-256X and the PCI8400GS-256 are built on the GeForce 8500GT and 8400GS GPU’s. All cards are low-profile to emphasize the multiple purposes of the cards. Those who lacks both AGP and PCIe ports on their motherboards, can now upgrade the integrated graphics to something a bit more modern.
One card could also become a nice extension to your current setup and be used to support more monitors. Or perhaps be used in a HTPC where the PureVideo features would come to better use. Especially as they come with DVI, HDMI and TV outputs. Alas, no word on the price or availability.
