While Anton N is carefully playing with his review copy of an AIW Radeon 9800 Pro, ATi launches yet another All in Wonder. The new card is based on Radeon 9600 Pro and is thus a lot slackier with 3D graphics than its bigger brother.
But believe it or not, this new variant offers support for even more gadgets than the AIW 9800 does:
- FM Tuner
- Dual Monitor
- CD/DVD authoring (I.e. burn complete discs. In earlier versions, users have only been able to create the movie files and then been forced to record with another program.)
- Remote Wonder II (A new remote control with greater range and more features.)
Beyond that, the card is delivered with MultiMedia Center 8.6, while the AIW 9800 ships with version 8.5.
Obviously, we are already queued up for a copy and you can expect a preview in early September. But what might be even more tempting is a version of 9800 Pro 256 MB with all these functions. Unfortunately, we very likely have to wait for the successor to the Radeon 9800 Pro series to arrive before such a monster can see the daylight.
