Socket AM2 seems to become the final name of AMD’s new CPU-socket that earlier has had the name Socket M2. Socket M2 is the first AMD platform to support DDR2-RAM and even though utilizing a socket concisting of 940 pins, it is not compatible with todays Socket 940. As we have earlier reported, AMD will launch all their CPU series for Socket AM2 and at The Inquirer they have got hold of a list showing what CPU-models we can expect when AMD launches Socket AM2 during Q2 2006.
