AMD has revealed that the recently completed Office 2010 will make use the company’s graphics circuits. Microsoft has developed the new production suite to make use of the power of GPUs and AMD says that this is possible with several generation of Radeon GPUs. The base requirements are DirectX 9.0 and 64MB or more graphics memory. AMD confirms that ATI Radeon HD 3000, 4000 and the latest 5000 series are fully compatible Office 2010.
For example, Office 2010 will make use of GPUs when during Powerpoint presentations, handling complex tables in Excel and rendering images in Word.
Even AMD’s integrated graphics circuits of the AMD 690, 700 and 800 series of chipsets support Office 2010, and mobile graphics circuit of the previously mentioned generations.
