It’s been a while since we last posted a processor review here at Nordichardware and this time it’s one of AMD’s latest creations, even though the article is a bit late, Athlon 64 FX-55 and Athlon 64 4000+.
We have through around 20 tests and about 200 measured figures positioned AMD’s processorers on the market. We have also tried pushing the 130nm-technology to it’s limits in by overclocking and the results can be found in our review.


Intel had a great period the months before AMD’s launch of the K8 core where AMD had troubles catching up with Intel at the top with their somewhat aged K7 architecture. But AMD’s wholehearted bet on the K8 architecture has undeniably shown itself to be just right. Since the introduction of Athlon64 and Opteron which were the first K8-based processors the interest and popularity has increased steady for AMD.
