AMD has for the first time in years a new microarchitecture coming and after a long life in Intel’s shadow the company hopes to enter a new era of greatness. According to recent stories it believes the new Bulldozer architecture is good enough to revive the mythical FX brand.
AMD Vision Black FX and Vision Ultimate FX will be the new flagships sporting 8-core Zambezi circuits and will be used to fight Intel’s heavier Core i7 processors.
The information published at Donanimhaber reveals nothing about the price or performance AMD expects from the new FX series, but that it has decided to bring back the good ol’ enthusiast brand should be promising for both the company and us consumers.
AMD Bulldozer will offer better performance per clock than the current and much aged Phenom II architecture, while the new 32 nanometer technology and 8 cores tend for higher clock frequencies and better multithreading performance.
