AMD has problems with the availability of Athlon 64 X2

0

AMD has after its massive price cuts, despite Intel’s successful launch of its Core 2 Duo, had a massive demand for its dual-core models in the Athlon 64 X2 family. The demand has been so high that AMD now has problems meeting the requested amount and according to European retailers there are almost only single-core processors available at the moment. AMD has admitted that it has problems to meet the demand for Athlon 64 X2 and simply says it didn’t expect the demand to be so high. AMD’s strong price cuts is without a doubt one reason for this, but during August the pressure from systembuilders is at its highest because of the upcoming school start. It doesn’t say how it will solve the problems or when we should be able to expect more of AMD’s A64 X2 processors.
