AMD has now announced a new chipset for embedded platforms and just as the name implies, AMD M690T, it is a model of the manufacturer’s recently launched chipset M690. The new M690T circuit is for embedded systems with the same base functions as the desktop model. AMD emphasize that the new M690T chipset is perfect for thin clients, gaming machines and other small systems. AMD has also equipped the circuit with an extra digital video output, which will not be available with the desktop model.
“The complete AMD solution offers a stable and reliable commercial embedded computing platform, with superior graphics, enhanced video performance, and numerous display options – key capabilities for nextgeneration thin-client, point-of-sale, and gaming systems. This enhanced visual capability is also well suited for AMD64 technology-based medical or security imaging and broad-purpose single board computing.”
