AMD has earlier announced that it has instated a new lab which will be lead by Rich Witek, chief architectural officer. The new lab will focus on platforms that lie five years ahead and do research regarding both architectures and the advanced technology that might come to use in these. Witek who will lead Advanced Architecture and Technology Lab has earlier been working on ARM, StrongARM, Alpha Processors and PowerPC, among others, but will now lead the development for AMD’s future.
