AMD has released a new software called AMD Dual Core Optimizer Utility that will solve the problems some users have experienced with time stamp counter (TSC). Processors with dual cores that in games do not support this technology can cause he games to crash, behave weird and play to fast or go async. Even newer games such as Need For Speed: Most Wanted has had problems with AMD’s dual-core processors and the TSC bug. AMD’s new software, which was released without any fuss, is suppose to solve these problems, but already discussions have started to appear whether this is suppose to be a part of the renowned reversed Hyperthreading technology we’ve reported about earlier. AMD hasn’t mentioned the new software officially and its function is therefore a bit unclear so don’t hesitate to share your experiences from the application.
