AMD just launched its new Phenom processor series and the quad-core processors have started to reach the stores. Even if the overall performance and the performance/price ratio are the most important things, it might be nice to see what you really get for ~$300. Over at InfoMars they’ve published pictures of a AMD Phenom X4 9500 retail box, and the most interesting of all; the cooler. On the other hand, the cooler is far from breathtaking and it’s pretty clear that AMD hasn’t spent much money designing it.
Hopefully this means that Phenom doesn’t need much cooling, and not that we will be getting reports of poor temperatures with the stock cooler anytime soon.
