NVIDIA launched the filler card GTX 560 Ti 448 in limited quantities while waiting for the next generation of graphics cards. AMD has a similar card coming, but this will target a lower segment to compete with GTX 560 (non-TI).
According to Mydrivers.com AMD has a new graphics card coming, this closely follows the launch of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti 448. The new graphics card will target a lower segment, both in price and performance. HD 6930 will like HD 6950 and HD 6970 be based on the Cayman core, but have two clusters with Radeon cores deactivated. The card will be a direct competitor to GTX 560, the cheaper non-Ti version.

The new graphics card will get less execution units, texture units and lower clock frequencies, and should land between HD 6950 and HD 6870 in performance. The price should do the same. The “new” Cayman CE will be compatible with HD 6950 circuit boards (like GTX 560 Ti 448 with GTX 570 and GTX 580 PCBs) to make a fast entrance. Since it is basically the same circuit as Cayman Pro and XT it should work with circuit boards from either.
Cayman CE will be PCB compliant with Cayman Pro
At the same time there are rumors from multiple direction that AMD’s coming graphics cards HD 7950 and HD 7970 will launch in early January, but considering the expected price tag HD 6930 should find a niche on the market. Before we have confirmation on these rumors, consider it with a pinch of salt.
