The launch of AMD’s budget circuits Caicos and Turks have been postponed and have been delayed or moved down for unknown reasons. But now it is official that both circuits will come forth on April 19th in three versions.
AMD Caicos was covered in a previous article while AMD Turks hasn’t made much noise. Turks is AMD’s GPU to succeed Redwood found in HD 55×0 and HD 56×0. Besides 480 stream processors, or 80 more than Redwood it is also based on a more effective architecture as the rest of HD 6000. A proof of this is that HD 6790 performs 20-25% better than HD5770 even though they may appear very similar on paper.
HD 6570 respective HD 6670 for OEM
Turks and Caicos have been available to OEMs for both notebooks and desktops, but will soon be available in retail.
