AMD has released a fix for Catalyst 11.6 that beside support for the new A series of Fusion APUs, but also solves problems and bugs that has been reported by users and consumers. Most of the bugs seem related to discrete graphics cards and not just the integrated GPUs of the AMD A series.
The new version of Catalyst 11.6 with the implemented fix can be downloaded from AMD’s website and weighs in at 135 MB. The final changes of the driver can be found below;
AMD Catalyst™ driver 11.6b Hotfix Features:
- Resolves the following issues:
- Blue screen erorrs (BSOD) seen when connecting a HDMI and DisplayPort based display to an AMD Radeon HD graphics product when using AMD Catalyst 11.6
- Screen flickering when the system is idle
- Mouse pointer corruption found in previous AMD Catalyst releases
