Rumors have been going around AMD would do a “paper launch” of its Phenom II architecture on January 8th, which means that even if the processors would be announced they would not be available until February. We have spoken directly to AMD which denies any such thing. AMD will do a hard and complete launch av Phenom II on January 8th and had the following to say about the availability;
“Products will be available at launch on January 8th.”
We can’t interpret this any other way than that AMD is ready to let its Phenom II processors run free on January 8th and this is of course great news for everyone, except for Intel of course.
