AMD’s 45nm server processor Shanghai just hit stores, even though the launch is still a few weeks to go. The desktop equivalent known as Deneb isn’t quite ready to be released, but it has reached the sample stage where processors are being sent out to partners. Last we heard AMD would lift the veil in early January, which unfortunately leaves them out of the Christmas shopping race, but other sources indicate an earlier launch. We have no confirmation to this, but we do know that Deneb is being produced and is nearing launch.
