AMD has reached the next milestone of the DirectX 11 architecture Evergreen. AMD has announced it has now shipped over 11 million DirectX 11 capable graphics circuits since the launch in September 2009.
The Evergreen family consists of a number of graphics cards, but all use the same base architecture and is the only one currently offering DirectX 11 models of every price segment, from budget entry level to extreme high-end.
According to AMD, Microsoft claims the transition to DirectX 11 is the fastest in the history of DirectX, which has to be mainly thanks to AMD since competitor NVIDIA is still stuck at only 400,000 DirectX 11 capable circuits, according to analysts and information from the Nvidia.
