AMD and Intel are continuing to lower prices on the processor market and it’s been known for some time that Intel will launch a broad series of price cuts at the end of the month. It therefore comes as no surprise that AMD has made some price cuts of its own now. Calling them mere price cuts is an understatement though, slaughter is more like it. The main victims have been the high-end processors of the Athlon 64 X2 and FX series, and some of the prices have been reduced by over 40 percent. The biggest price drop is with AMD’s new Athlon 64 X2 6000+, which drops from 464 USD to 241 USD, but also the previous flagship, 5600+, has become drastically cheaper, from 328 USD to 188 USD.
Below is a complete list of the new processor prices in American dollar in quantities of 1,000 units.
