AMD Socket M2 and Intel 945 motherboard supports DDR2

0

The DDR2-memories has been out on the market for a good while now, and even though it has gained influence and reputation it has had an impossible time breaking through, since AMD hasn’t got any platform which supports the DDR2-format. Right now all DDR2-manufacturers are waiting for Q1 2006, as it is expected that the demand for DDR2-memories will go through the roof. Not that unexpected either; AMD launches their Socket M2-platform, their first with DDR2-support, whilst Intel are expected to boost their production of the 945-platform. The DDR2 will undoubtedly break through during this period, and the only thing we wonder is where it will leave the market for DDR1-modules.
