AMD has finally started shipping the first commercial deliveries of the new processor series Llano. The processors comes with an integrated GPU and up to four processor cores that will launch as Fusion A. The roll-out of processors to AMD partners is starting now and the launch is slated for Q2.
The news comes directly for AMD that confirms that both development and manufacturing of the new Fusion A series of APUs Regular consumers can expect the first Llano APU circuits on the market in Q3, but up until then AMD will deliver the new circuits to partners and system builders that are working on completing their PCs before the launch.
AMD celebrates the first shipments of Fusion A series, also known as Llano
AMD hasn’t revealed which system builders that gets a share of the shipments of Llano, but earlier stories have stated there will be five models in Q3 to let the Fusion-A family grow with more models in Q4.

The Llano architecture builds on a CPU portion with genes from AMD’s Phenom II family and of the first five first processors that launches there are four that ships with four cores, while the fifth steels for two CPU cores.
The big news of Llano is just like with previous Fusion APUs the integrated graphics. AMD calls it “discrete-level graphics”, which means that the integrated DirectX 11 GPU is powerful enough to battle with dedicated graphics cards.
AMD will equip its Llano APUs with different graphics processors where the number of stream processors are different from model to model, but two of the circuits we expect to see starting next quarter, Fusion A8-3550P and A8-3550, will be fully equipped with 400 stream processors and four cores. We still don’t know what kind of performance to expect from AMD’s new mid-range processors, but in theory the integrated graphics should be capable of whipping many budget graphics cards.
