AMD recently announced that it will upgrade its Fab30 plant for several millions to make the plant better prepared for the future and increase the capacity. According to an article in Times Union it is topical for AMD to build a completely new plant and doing so in New York. The plant will in that case be built in the Luther Forest Technology Park in Malta and Stillwater, New York. AMD has been lured by the state’s $1 billion package of incentives where some of the promises includes improved roads, water and drainage systems if the chip manufacturer would build a plant for $3.5 billion. AMD has chosen not to comment this informaion and would it become topical for AMD to build a a whole new plant we sense something big.
