The market for laptops is bigger than ever before and Intel has for long been the reigning king with its Centrino platform and its Pentium M based processors. AMD has despite its success with its desktop and server processors still not been able to keep up with the mobile market, until about a year ago when it launched its Turion 64 processor series. Turion 64 is basically a more power efficient version of Athlon 64 and considering the success of Athlon 64, the base could be much, much worse. But how does Turion 64 stand up to Intel’s recognized and efficient Pentium M architecture? At TechReport they’ve tested both AMD and Intel’s mobile processors to see which one, if any, that will come out on top. The struggle is namely much more even than one might’ve expected.
