Small preview imageAOpen Pandora is the latest “Apple-clone” and for once the iPod is not the original. And it’s not a small unknown company longing to be seen behind the product. This time it’s a mini-PC from the wellknown manufacturer AOpen. AOpen Pandora is the name of the prototype that is being displayed at Computex and the similarities with Apple’s Mac Mini are the least to say, striking.

AOpen Pandora is made by AOpen but according to The Inquirer it is with both support and pressure form both Intel and Microsoft. In other terms it seems more than one party wonts to see a PC-version of Apple’s mini-computer Mac Mini. AOpen Pandora relies, not entirely unexpected, on Intel’s power efficient Pentium M-platform which should result in pretty good performance. Except for this there will be models with Wi-Fi (wireless networking), bluetooth and DVD-RW units. Pandora is expected to reach the shelves during September and we are really looking forward to more detailed specifications. And it would of course be interesting to hear what Apple has to say about it.
