The pocket PC manufacturer Palm will according to its most dominant stockholder be on the verge of being sold and it seems that Apple is one of the potential buyers. Despite that Palm has been doing very well lately the stockholders are worried about the competition, especially smartphones that is grabbing more and more marketshares from the pocket PC market. Apple has several strong connections to Palm, not the least geographically as the companies are practically neighbours. Anyhow, sources are claiming that Apple might be interested in Palm as a good partner for future products, possibly pocket PCs or some other handheld devices.
A further improvement of iPod is perhaps a possiblity as many seem to believe it will have a hard time standing up to multi-functional units in the future. This is just speculations though, but Apple’s actions are monitored very closely by many.
