Apple has similar to many other companies chosen to use backdated stocks as so called stock options. This is done by looking back and choosing a histoical low for the option price and then sell, or use as payment instead of money. It has now turned out that there were eroors in old reports because of this and it has to recalculate the results of this all the way back to 2002. Apple will not present any new results until the old ones have been updated. If we will see any nastiness spawning from this remains to be seen, but really hope we won’t.
