Apple usually sells at a big margin, which culminated when a model of the first computer made by Apple – Apple 1 – was sold on Acution earlier this month. The final price was $212,267, slightly more than the $666.66 it was priced at in July 1976.

Apple 1 comes with 8-bits 6502 microprocessor paired with 8KB RAM and ships without a monitor or even a keyboard. In those days each Apple 1 system was shipped from Steve Jobs’ family home, which was also the return address.

The model of Apple 1 that was sold at Christie’s in London was presented by Steve Wozniak, one of the founders of Apple. Beside a computer in near mint condition, original packaging and manuals there was a letter from Steve Jobs. This most likely helped to trigger the price. We don’t know who won the auction.
