Apple iTMS reach 1 billion downloads

Apple has now reached a mighty milestone with its online music store iTunes: I billion downloads from iTunes and it has as we have earlier reported promised some really nice prizes for those who download every 100 000 song and the lucky buyer of the 1 billionth song: among others a 20″ iMac and ten 60GB iPod players. Anyway, iTunes is constantly growing leaving the competition even further behind. How and when a real competitor to iTunes will arrive remains to see.
