If you’re looking for the fastest laptop for Windows XP you should apparently not chose a PC but a Mac! That is at least what the site GearLog claims after testing Apple’s Core Duo based laptop MacBook Pro with Windows XP with the help of the new system for dual-booting Windows XP and Mac OS X with Apple’s Intel machines. Under Windows XP they did a number of tests with Adobe Photoshop by using filters and effects. The results for Apple MacBook Pro turned out to be very competitive, actually so fine that at the moment it looks like the fastest laptop for Windows XP is a Mac, at least with Photoshop. At GearLog they compared the figures to the same tsts with other Core Duo based laptops at PC Mag and it was only a computer from Acer that got close to MacBook Pro.
A big advantage for the MacBook Pro is that is comes with a 2.16GHz Core Duo compared to 2.0GHz models for the other systems. But the fact that an Apple made computer is one of the fastest with Windows XP was hardly something we would believe a year ago.
