Believe it or not but through a blunder at Apple it has violated a patent which might cost the company £6 per sold iPod-player. The money will be used a licensefee to the company holding the patent Apple uses in its iPod’s interface. And conveniently enough it is another software-giant and even a competitor to Apple, namely Microsoft which is the owner of the patent. Microsoft wasn’t satisfied with just making huge amounts of cash on Apple’s mistake but has covered Apple with more or less cynical comments. Among other it has announced that it will be happy to license its technology to Apple so it can use its “innovative methods” with its products.
