Apple earlier sued German company Spodradio over the use of the word pod. Apple has lately been telling other companies to stop using the word Pod with its products. Two companies have so far been told to stop using the word; one who manufactures a unit that gathers information from vending machines, Mach5products ProfitPod, and one that manufacturers protections for electronical products such as laptops and e.g. mp3 players, TightPod. The companies have been issued this despite the fact that the names have been approved by the authorities. How this will end and if they will actually change their name remains to be seen.
