Apple recently got some new compeition for its high-end LCD monitors. Yesterday we reported about a comparison between Apple’s 30″ Cinema HD Display and Dell’s new 30″ display, 3007WFP. Apple’s monitor is over a year old and had “worse” specifications than Dell’s new monster. However these specifications were based on the first panel, nowadays Apple us the new 30″ panel that also Dell has, which has been made clear by updated specifications. Among others a better viewing angle, 178 vs. 170 degress, and better contrast, 700:1 vs. 400:1. Also the response time is better with the new model, 14ms, compared to the old 16ms.

The specifications for Apple’s and Dell’s monitors are now alike, even if Dell 3007WFP has a few more functions, and as we saw in the comparison at CNET the performance is also similar, forcing those who have the money to make a choice of personal taste.
