Apple working on iPhone according to BenQ

iPhone could be the next big product by Apple according to Taiwanese company BenQ. Lately rumors about Apple wokring on a mobile phone, nicknamed iPhone, has appeared. Considering the luke-warm reception Motorolas ROKR, the first iTunes mobile, got it’s not surprising that Apple wants to test something new if it wants to re-enter the mobile phone market. According to BenQ it is therefore about to develop its own mobile phone as Apple has contacted several component manufacturers in Taiwan and asked for parts, several manufacturers that also supplies BenQ with mobile phones components.

“Apple has already registered ‘Mobile Me’ as a trademark. As it stands, the filing is too broad to zero in on the product or service behind the brand, but given the ‘iPhone’ rumours, it’s an interesting name to seek to acquire.”

Apple has not commented on the “iPhone”, but as the plot thickens the rumors are piling up.
