Arctic Cooling has launched a new processor cooler and just like most new cooler the focus is on both efficiency while still being quiet. Freezer 64LP is very different though; it’s small and intended for low-profile systems, such as HTPCs and similar. The cooler uses a heatpipe design and has dual side-mounted fans. The fans are mounted on the side to cut off those important extra millimeters of the top of the cooler. Freezer 64LP is a mere 59 millimeters high and this means that you can use it with even the slimmest cases and systems.
The cooler will fit AMD’s processor sockets and is considerably more efficient than AMD’s own reference cooler and except from the lower temperatures the level of noise is only a third of AMD’s cooler.
Not surprisingly, we can see that the PC market as a whole is moving toward smaller systems and we’re eager to see how the coolers will develop from here on. The high-end coolers of today are anything but small. More information about Freezer 64LP can be found at Arctic Cooling’s website.
