ASRock has unveiled two new mini-HTPC systems of the Core 100HT series. The computers are based on the same hardware as the Vision 3D HTPC, I.e. Intel’s mobile Calpella platform with processors from the Core i3, i5 and i7 families. Core 100HT-BD also supports Blu-ray.
ASRock hasn’t spent that much time on the aesthetics, but Core 100HT is really small and under the hood we find some really nice components. The 32nm processors sport integrated graphics from Intel that connects to your TV or monitor through HDMI. It supports up to 8GB DDR3-RAM (two slots), one 2.5″ drive, DVD player with Core 100HT or Blu-ray with Core 100HT-BD, and 8 channel audio and 802.11n WiFi.
The base model with a 2.13 GHz Core i3 330M processor is bundled with a Media Center remote and with a noise level of 25dB it will be hardly audible. The idle power consumption is 20.1 watt and the price will be around around $650 for the DVD model, the Blu-ray 100HT-BD will run you another $100.
