Intel is keeping strict with its coming launch of the processor architecture Sandy Bridge, but motherboard makers are nervously waiting for the launch and wants to show its creations, and many already have. ASRock have joined these and showed no less than 8 different LGA1155 motherboards with P67 and H67 chipset.
The performance models is based on the Intel P67 chipset – without integrated graphics – all builds on the ATX format and the king of the hill will be ASRock P67 Extreme6. The board has been crowned with 18-phase power supply that is backed up by high-quality capacitors. The features include three PCI Express x16 slots, six SATA 6.0 Gbps ports and four USB 3.0 ports. Further down the list we find Extreme4 that has the same base design, but some stripped down features, among others fewer SATA 6.0 Gbps ports.
ASRock round off the P67 assortment with two mid-range models, ASRock P67 Pro3 and P67 Pro. Here we find 10 and 5 phase power supplies, and limited featurse with a single PCIe x16 slot and just Pro3 supports USB 3.0.
Looking at the H67 family ASRock has made sure to make the most of Intel’s built-in GPU, a wise decision considering its good performance. The top model is called ASRock H67M GE-HT and ses the micro-ATX format with 6 phase power supply and no less than four video outputs; DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI and D-Sub. Other functions include USB 3.0, SATA 6.0 Gbps, eSATA and a single PCIe x16 slots.
Another three H67 models is a part of the program and two of them use the micro-ATX format, H67M GE and H67M. These lack DisplayPort and the latter has only two memory slots. ASRock also has a full-size H67 motherboard that gets similar features as H67M GE but with more PCI and PCIe x1 slots.
ASRock hasn’t revealed any prices yet, but the boards should be on the market first week next year when Intel announces the platform.
