Selling music for download seems to have become extremely popular in just a few weeks and we’ve now seen both Microsoft and SanDisk/RealNetworks launch new online music stores, but now a somewhat more unexpected constellation has appeared. According to DigiTimes motherboard manufacturer ASUS and sound circuit manufacturer Realtek have started to look closer at a P2P-based music store which was recently started by sound circuit manufacturer C-Media Electronics.

The platform is called Kuro and is currently only active in Taiwan but they have plans to expand to China. Whether ASUS and Realtek will really go through with this remains to be seen, but it would certainly reveal some of the manufacturers’ future plans.
