ASUS AT5IONT-I looks like the fist addition to the next generation mini motherboard from ASUS. The motherboard has a dual-core Intel Atom D525 CPU at 1.8 GHz and second generation NVIDIA Ion circuit, all in a small and convenient mini-ITX format.

ASUS AT3IonT-I Deluxe turned out to be a good foundation for a HTPC with an efficient Atom processor and Ion for graphics.  ASUS has upgraded both processor and graphics to the next generation and on paper it is looking good.

The motherboard supports up to 4 GB DDR3 RAM and a single PCIe x4 slots for expansion cards. Other features include Intel’s NM10 southbridge and two SATA 3.0 Gbps ports, four USB 2.0 outputs and 8 channel Realtek audio processor with support for DTS Surround Sensation. ASUS has also installed two SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ports via a NEC controller.

The system can be connected to a TV or monitor through either HDMI or DVI.

ASUS AT5IONT-I has a regular 24 pin ATX connector for power, but the Deluxe model with an external AC power supply, WiFi and Bluetooth will arrive in July.
