Back in March we reported about ASUS’ somewhat unique plan to develop a laptop where the case is made from wood. We’ve seen both leather laptops and notebooks with high gloss paint jobs from ASUS, but right now it is working on the upcoming Eco Book, made from bamboo. The panels of ASUS Eco Book is covered by laminated bamboo and will be marketed as a “green” computer, in favor of the environment by leaving out toxic plastics and other synthetic materials.
ASUS Eco Book is still under development and going through endurance tests to see if the bamboo can handle the, sometimes extreme, conditions a laptop can be exposed to, and, of course, the heat coming from the components.
Reuters has namely published a couple of pictures of Eco Book, which could become the next great PR stunt from ASUS.
