Motherboard giant Asustek will soon present a new board called ASUS P7P55D-E Platinum. The board will be first with native USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gbps support. Using Intel’s P55 chipset the board squeezes into a tight category since ASUS has no less than 16 motherboards for Intel’s LGA1156 platform. But now that it has enabled both USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gbps support it’s worth another launch.

ASUS P7P55D-E Platinum has genuine support for all of the new storage interface as it can offer full bandwidth for connected drives. Since Intel offers no support for the new interfaces through the chipset ASUS had to use an extra bridge chip. Basically it looks like the same solution it used with the PCI-Express card we reported on earlier, but now everything is done by the motherboard, including USB 3.0.

The new interfaces aside ASUS has fitted the board with all the goodness of the regular Premium boards; including 48 phase hybrid power supply, dual PCI-E x16 slots, 10 channel HD audio, and DDR3 2200 support when overclocking.

Below are a couple of pictures we acquired. More information will come shortly as the board launches very soon.
