Intel X48 is the latest enthusiast chipset from Intel and it is expected to appear any day now. Several motherboard manufacturers have already announced their X48 motherboards, but even though they’ve released the details, there are no boards available and they have to wait for the final launch before they can start shipping them. Intel has delayed the launch of the chipset and this is because a certain motherboard manufacturer wants to empty out its supply of X38 boards before they announce the X48 chipset.
According to these sources, it’s ASUS that’s delaying the launch, which was actually one of fastest to design motherboards based on the new X48 chipset. This information is unconfirmed and should be considered with a pinch of salt, but it seems that most of the major motherboards manufacturers will be ready when Intel decides to unveil X48.
