ASUS som startade hela netbook-eran med sin Eee PC-familj har nu meddelat att man snart kommer att börja skeppa de första Eee PC-modellerna med stöd för mobilt bredband. Tekniken som High-Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA) är ett 3G-protokoll och gör det möjligt för användare att trycka in sitt telefonkort direkt i datorn istället för att använda de externa USB-dongles som mobiloperatörerna skickar med sin mobila bredband (ASUS kallar tekniken 3.75G). Att Internetsurfning är en av netbook-datorernas huvudsakliga uppgifter säger sig självt och att integrera stöd för 7.2Mbps mobilt bredband gör detta betydligt smidigare. Samtidigt verkar ASUS satsa rakt av på 6-cells batterier med mer än 7.5 timmars batteritid som anspegling på produktnamnet. Priset på Eee PC 901 3.75G blir runt 4500 kronor och lanseringen sker under oktober månad.
