Intel has not yet launched Intel N2600 and N2800 for netbooks, two models that will be some of the more interesting from Intel in a long time. ASUS was quick to adopt D2700 for desktops and manage to fit it inside the Lamborghini VX6S together with AMD Radeon HD 6470M.
Whiel we are still waiting for Intel to release the new Cedar Trail plttform for netbooks it has made a quiet launch for desktops. ASUS has updated its Lamborghini VX6 that used Intel Atom D525 and NVIDIA Ion 2, to Lamborghini VX6S with the new Intel Atom D2700 and AMD Radeon HD 6470M.
Intel Atom D2700 is a desktop versino and therefore has 10W TDP, instead of 6,5W and 3.5W like N2800 and N2600. It weighs up this with slightly higher clock frequency at 2.13 GHz vs 1.86 GHz and 1.6 GHz. Lamborghini VX6S also comes with AMD Radeon HD 6470M that is more powerful than the integrated GPU. It does not support the aumatomatic switching between integrated and discrete that could improve battery time otherwise.

In the first test we see with Cedar Trail it has included ASUS Eee PC 1215B and ASUS Lamborghini VX6 as references.
We see that ASUS Lamborghini VX6S comes out on top, thanks to the more powerful processor and Radeon HD 6470M. In Cinebench we see that Intel outperforms AMD E-350, but sadly we don’t get any more detailed information on the new GPU of Intel’s new Atom platform. It will be interesting digger deeper into Cedar Trail when it launches for notebooks, but until then ASUS’ odd creation with its desktop processor and discrete graphics has a void to fill.
