ASUS is dedicated to overclockers and during the weekend it had invited several established names on the Swedish scene and gave them a chance to play around with the very latest components with both extreme cooling and simpler methods. Our own overclocking guru Jonas “Mean Machine” Klar was there and has summarized the event in his own special way.
The majority of the overclockers participating at ASUS’ office in Kista also participated in the Swedish Computer Performance Championship 2009 and beside Mean Machine who won Percentage Overclocking, Jon “elmor” Sandström, Price/Performance winner, was there. Other SCPC celebrities included ME4ME (Mean Machine’s partner), gbglassen, Exs, Evil_ananas and Calathea.
Using ASUS motherboards and graphics cards, and Intel processors, they managed to reach several impressive results with Core i7 980X processors running at over 6 GHz and broken GeForce GTX 480 cards.
More information on the results and participants can be found in the Swedish forum. You should check it out. Jonas is actually smiling on one of the pictures (although it might ironically, I’m not sure).
