ASUS PG191 is the latest monitor to appear in ASUS’ assortment and here there is no doubt who the target consumer is. After launching its R.O.G Crosshair motherboard it comes as no surprise that PG191 is intended for Gamers that need really fast response times. ASUS new 19″ monitor is not of the widescreen format and use the standard resolution of 1280×1024 pixels with a contrast ratio of 800:1. The new monitor has a response time of very low 2ms, which tends for optimal gaming performance, but ASUS hasn’t held back when it comes to the monitor’s other functions as well.
ASUS PG191 is equipped with integrated speakers, which, believe it or not, comes with a subwoofer, which seems to be the reason for the sturdier arm. Except from its 15W ASUS Power Bass System ASUS has added a 1.3 Megapixel web camera to PG191 for further multimedia functionality. By rounding off with 3 USB ports and both DVI-D and VGA inputs it has created an unusually complete monitor. Whether one appreciates all these functions or not is up to the individual. The price of ASUS’ new 19″ monitor seems to be around $440.
