The ASUS R.O.G. series is designed for the really serious gamers and enthusiasts. Those who want to push their hardware really hard and achieve really good performance. We’ve now bumped into some new information about the coming boards of this series. They are based on Intel’s new P35 chipset and offer some totally new features. ASUS R.O.G. Blitz Extreme is based on P35 and use DDR3 memory, but there is also a DDR2 version in the form of R.O.G. Blitz Formula. The one thing that made us jump for joy was a feature called Crosslinx. ASUS has namely created a way to work around the limitation of 16/4x when running CrossFire.

Crosslinx simply redirects the lanes so that instead of 16+4 we get 8+8. The Japanese site ASCII has managed to take some pictures of the new boards.

We will have some more information soon.
