Yesterday we discussed Intel’s new Atom platform, but also mentioned the first ASUS netbooks sporting Atom N450. ASUS has officially launched a duo of Pine Trail netbooks in its popular Seashell series. ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1005P and 1005PE both have Intel’s singe-core Atom N450 CPU inside, 10″ displays and battery times specified to 11 and 14 hours (best case scenario).
The operating system will be Windows 7 Starter but with ASUS Express Gate you can boot the computer and access the Internet in just 8 seconds, or wait for Windows to load.
The differences between 1005P and 1005PE are that the latter offers 250GB storage instead of 160GB, and Bluetooth and a bigger 63Wh battery for up to 14h battery time.
