ASUS is truly adapting new SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface for all of its products. From a broad motherboard update with support for the technology it has started to spread to its notebooks as well. ASUS is preparing the N82 and N61 models for launch, sporting not just USB 3.0 but also Intel’s new mobile Core i5 and Core i7 processors and discrete graphics from AMD or NVIDIA.
When ASUS showed its notebooks in China it demonstrated transfer rates over 80MB/s, which matches the numbers we’ve achieved in our tests of the first generation USB 3.0 products. We hope to present some more USB 3.0 numbers here at NordicHardware, but there is no doubt that the new USB interface is worth another look and will break through in 2010.
