ASUS Striker II Extreme is one of the motherboards that will use NVIDIA’s nForce 790i SLI chipset, which is expected to hit the market in Q2. We told you about the chipset last week, and some of the distinguishing features is the support for DDR3, 1600MHz FSB and Tri-SLI. Leaked pictures of ASUS Striker II Extreme reveal the design and specifications of ASUS’ coming flagship. ASUS Striker II Extreme has a hybrid air/water cooling for the chipset, with heatpipes connecting the heatsinks. Except from the nForce 790i SLI chipset, ASUS has equipped the board with pretty much everything you can think of.
According to the data sheet, there are several features inherited from from the R.O.G. (Republic Of Gamers) series. Among others, we see on-board power/reset buttons and a clear CMOS switch on the I/O panel. The board has plenty of overclocking potential with everything from 2-phase power for the DDR3 memory to a wealth of tools. Below are the complete specifications and a picture of the board.
