ASUS has a we recently reported plans for a Core 2 Duo model of its laptop series Lamborghini. It seems it’s not the only model that will be updated soon as new information about its portable multimedia series ASUS W2 and a new model has appeared. ASUS W2P is the name of the new model which is something of a successor to W2J which is already available. But this time ASUS has not been holding back on the new functions for W2P. The transition to Core 2 Duo is namely paired with ATI’s new Radeon Mobility X1700 and a HD DVD player for the real movies fans. The computer will be equipped with an HDMI output sporting HDCP.
But the display of W2P will do pretty good on its own, a 17″ LCD display with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels which is perfect for the HD DVD format. Other functions and features include 2GB DDR2-SDRAM, 802.11b/g wireless network but also Bluetooth 2.0. The computer is of course equipped with Windows XP Media Center Edition and through a hybrid TV tuner with support for both analog and digital signals the TV viewing should be secured.
